After Priyanka Chopra was chosen as the Brand Ambassador to promote tourism in Assam, another Bollywood superstar has been roped in by a Northeastern state to promote its flora, fauna and its culture. Arunachal Pradesh Tourism has appointed superstar John Abraham as a brand ambassador to promote tourism in the easternmost state of India.

Besides, BE Viacom18 in a first of its kind initiative, has partnered with the government of Arunachal Pradesh to provide strategic consultation services to promote tourism in the state.

In 2002, the supermodel turned actor made his debut in the Bollywood with the film “Saaya”, which was shot in the Mokokchung district of Nagaland. An avid football fan, John is the co-owner of the Guwahati-based Northeast United FC, a football club in the Indian Super League (ISL).

BE Viacom18 will release special audio-visual brand film and invite other film fraternities to shoot films, music videos, documentaries, television series and reality shows etc. in the state and air the feeds through the network’s broadcast channels to accelerate the state tourism.

John, who enjoys being active outdoors, whether it is playing football, adventure sports or biking, fits the bill for being the face of Arunachal Pardesh and what it has to offer, said an official. Representing the state as a brand ambassador, he is of the opinion that the state has lot to offer to its tourist be it culture, heritage, adventure sports and music.
