Ever since it was announced that the latest season of the Indian Super League, India’s premiere football tournament, will be kicked off from Guwahati, NorthEast United FC fans are eagerly waiting for the opening ceremony tickets.

With television promos already out and the build-up to the Opener picking up fast, fans were seen waiting for the tickets at the Sarusajai stadium since last many days. On September 25, around 100 fans gathered at the Sarusajai stadium box office waiting for the release of the tickets, only to be told that the authorities will inform about the ticket sales “very soon”.

Sources told EasternFeed.com that the tickets may be released from September 26.

[UPDATE] The tickets will be officially released from 12 noon, September 26. It will be available both online and offline. Tickets can be booked online through the link while one can purchase the tickets from Sarusajai Stadium, Nehru Stadium, Shillong Sports Association Stadium and Grande Cines, Paltan Bazaar. Tickets start from Rs 400 for the opener while for the other matches it starts from Rs 200.

Even as the wait for the tickets continues, the ISL backend team is leaving no stone unturned to make the opener a gala event. The opening ceremony is set to be one of the grandest events in the Northeast with host of Bollywood celebrities, footballers, cricketers and politicians donning the fan hats.

For the opener, the stakes are high for John Abraham’s NorthEast United FC as they take on Sachin Tendulkar-owned Kerala Blasters “because of whom the Highlanders couldn’t make it to the Semis last season”.
