A CRPF personnel succumbed to his injuries after being attacked by a miscreant on Sunday night at Daporijo. Devakar Das (34), constable, 138 BN CRPF was allegedly attacked with a knife by one Rokder alias Tadar Motu.
The incident happened when a patrolling team of CRPF and civil police were taking the accused and another youth to the police station after they were found creating nuisance near the District Hospital. Passing through a dimly lit area, the accused, who was later arrested, took out his knife and attacked the patrolling team after which both the youths escaped.
Of the two injured personnel, Das succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
Police nabbed the accused on Monday. The weapon used during the attack has also been recovered from the accused, informed Upper Subansiri SP, Taru Gusar.
