Itanagar Police arrested four people, including two government officials, for assaulting Arunachal Times journalist Ranjit Sinha Ranjit when he was returning home on July 7 after his late night shift.

The accused have been identified as Joram Tadam of Tago, Tanya Raja of Joram, Yarda Sanjoy of Yarda, all under Lower Subansiri district and Gokia Nehru of Deve village under Kra Daadi.

Sanjoy is an IRBn constable who was recruited under sports quota and currently posted in Balijan while Gokia Nehru is a traffic warden in Itanagar.

The police team cracked the case in less than 72 hours. The four accused, who are all residents of IG Park/Forest colony, Itanagar, were arrested between Sunday and Monday.

The police informed that the accused will be sent to judicial custody and that they have been booked under non-bailable sections of the IPC.

Police recovered the stolen items, including the mobile phone and other documents, from the four accused.
