13 new COVID-19 cases in Assam; tally moves to 170

The number of COVID-19 positive cases continued to increase in Assam on May 20 as 13 new cases were reported in the state. With this, the number of total cases in the state stands at 170.

As many as eight cases were reported from Hojai while two persons were detected COVID-19 positive from Sonitpur and one each from Kamrup Metro, Kamrup and Nagaon.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the new positive cases and informed that now the number of active cases in the state stand at 115.

As many as 48 patients recovered from the disease and were released from the hospitals. Assam reported four deaths. Three patients migrated to other states.
