As many as 185 poll-related cases were registered across the state during the simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections this year, with Koloriang assembly constituency under Kurung Kumey district topping the list with 23 cases.

“In all, 185 cases were registered in the state during the simultaneous assembly and lok sabha polls, 2019 as compared to 83 cases registered during 2014 polls,” Arunachal home minister Bamang Felix informed the house, while replying to a question raised by Koloriang MLA Lokam Tassar related to violence in his constituency during election, on the first day of the three-day budget session of the Arunachal assembly on July 7.

Felix informed that in seven districts namely, Pakke Kessang, Shi-Yomi, Upper Siang, Lohit, Anjaw, Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley there had been zero violence during the polls.

Altogether, four cases of murder were registered across the state including one each in Kurung Kumey and Longding districts and two in Tirap district, Felix said.

The home minister said the highest numbers of cases were registered in Koloriang assembly constituency which accounted for 23.

“All the cases are being thoroughly investigated, and will be resolved,” he said.

Responding to another supplementary question of Tassar, the minister assured the house that he will personally review all the 23 cases registered in the Koloriang assembly segment.
