Assam girl Priyadarshini Chatterjee has won the fbb Femina Miss India 2016 title at a glittering ceremony held at Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai on Saturday (April 9, 2016) night. Priyadarshini is an alumnus of Maria’s Public School, Guwahati.

Sushruthi Krishna of Mumbai was crowned the fbb Femina Miss India 2016 runner-up and Lucknow girl Pankhuri Gidwani was announced as the second runner-up.
Femina Miss India 2016 Priyadarshini will now represent India at the global platform Miss World 2016; first runner-up Sushruthi Krishna will participate at Miss International 2016, while the second runner-up Pankhuri Gidwani will take part at the Miss Grand International beauty pageants.
The Top-5 finalists of fbb Femina Miss India 2016 were Navpreet Kaur, Pankhuri Gidwani, Priyadarshini Chatterjee, Roshmitha Harimurthy and Sushruthi Krishna. Dibrugarh girl Aradhana Buragohain was in the Top-10 while another Guwahati girl and winner of fbb Femina Miss India Kolkata 2016 Rajkanya Baruah failed to make it to the Top-10. She won two subtitles though.
The Top-5 were asked a common question: What are the qualities required to be Miss India and why do you think you should be crowned the next Miss India? Priyadarshini Chatterjee answered: “Miss India should be true to herself, she should have a personality to reflect who she is. My personality reflects that and that’s why I should be the next Miss India.”
Presently pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Hindu College, Delhi, Priyadarshini did her schooling from Maria’s Public School, Guwahati. She won the fbb Femina Miss India Delhi 2016 edition and got direct entry to the top 21 of the fbb Femina Miss India finale. Besides doing freelance modelling, Priyadarshini, who hails from Dhubri in Assam, has also keen interest in dance, theatre, travelling and trekking.
