Get fresh men and women for marriage here. Like really?
A matrimonial service in Guwahati has given a newspaper advertisement showing their best of talents – they provide FRESH men and women for marriage! Yes, the advertisement promises “100% confirmed marriage” with options to choose from ‘FRESH, Divorcee, Widowed and any government sector, MNC or Businessman’. Also Sanjyog Matrimony, situated at GS Road, Ulubari, Guwahati, serves people from Assam and ‘outsiders’ across India, the colour advertisement suggested.
At a time when objectification of women is widely contested, the distasteful advertisement claiming FRESH as a category only suggests the prevailing mindset. Needless to say, the demand for FRESH partners must have fuelled this matrimony service to enlist it as a category in itself!
Calls for clarification from Sanjyog Matrimony on the issue went unanswered till the time of this report going on to the web.
