Candid Clicks, a Facebook group comprising amateur and professional photographers from various parts of Assam and the Northeast, has organized an exhibition of photographs at the State Art Gallery from September 19 to September 23. Last year, the group, which now has more than 4,000 members, organised its maiden exhibition at the State Art Gallery which was a grand success.

The exhibition, inaugurated on September 19 by senior artist Aminul Hoque, saw participation of various amateur and professional photographers.

Founded in the 2014 by Debasis Baruah, a Guwahati-based senior photo artist, the Facebook group was intended to create a platform for passionate amateur as well as professional photographers to display their creations to larger viewers around the world.

Baruah, the curator of the first ever photography exhibition by a Facebook group in Assam, has earlier said, “When I first started off with this Facebook page, I barely knew that it will become so popular within such a short frame of time. Today, the group has many active members, who have bonded together like a virtual family through a single link – their love for photography.”
