A team of all-women mountaineers led by ace mountaineer from Arunachal Pradesh Anshu Jamsenpa scaled two technical peaks in Arunachal Pradesh – Mt Gorichen East on October 18 and an unnamed virgin peak on October 21.

The 10-member team returned to Itanagar after the feat on Saturday. The team comprised of women mountaineers from West Bengal, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Bihar, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan besides Arunachal Pradesh.

The expedition team was flagged off by Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu from Itanagar on September 29.

The expedition was jointly organized by the government of Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with the department of youth affairs and sports and Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) New Delhi, the national apex body for mountaineering expeditions in India.
