Crusader against witch hunting, Dr Birubala Rabha of Assam was felicitated with ONE India Award 2016. Instituted by My home India, Rabha was presented the award in a ceremony held at Mumbai. The award consists of a memento, a citation and a documentary on her life and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.

Dr Birubala Rabha, who was once branded as witch, has rescued many innocent women who were branded as witches. She built an organisation for rehabilitation of these victims and help them from social exclusion, persecution and even the claws of death.
