The pristine beauty of Northeast will be seen yet again on the big screens as Bollywood drama Rangoon, starring Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor, is ready for release. The trailer of the film Rangoon was released recently and the beauty of the Siang river, the landscape of Pasighat and Dhemaji are adorable, to say the least.
Rangoon is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The period film is set during World War II. The film is scheduled for release on February 24.
Saif plays a rich, Mumbai-based theatre owner while Kangana Ranaut is the prime attraction at Saif’s establishment. When Kangana is sent to Burma (now Myanmar), where the Indian National Army is stationed, she falls in love with Shahid Kapoor who is an Indian soldier fighting for the British in World War II.
Soon, begins a tumultuous love story, filled with deceit, in the backdrop of war.
Last November, Rock On 2, shot in different parts of Meghalaya – particularly Shillong – was appreciated for the scenic locations on display. Although the film wasn’t a commercial success, the portrayal of the scenic beauty of Shillong in the movie was appreciated.
