After the success of the last two seasons, the Guwahati Food Awards is back with added flavour. The Guwahati Food Awards 2017, an initiative aimed at recognizing the best in the city’s food and beverage business, has received over 180 nominations across 25 award categories.

“Nominations have been received from the entire gamut of the food and beverage industry in Guwahati comprising restaurants, cafes, lounge bars, bakeries, catering providers and fast food eateries amongst others,” a note by the organizers said.

“Citizens are being encouraged to vote for their favourite players via the Guwahati Food Awards website or by sending votes via SMS. The voting lines are open till the February 20. The awards ceremony will take place on February 26 at Hotel Vivanta by Taj,” the note added.

Instituted by Guwahati-based weekly tabloid G Plus, the jury will assess various parameters like food, ambience, service, key specialities and USPs. The jury panel is headed by culinary historian and author Ashish Chopra and supported by the principal advisor and celebrated food critic, author of Times Food Guide and CEO of Gourmet India, Suresh Hinduja.

Speaking on the awards, director and publisher at G Plus Sunit Jain said, “Its overwhelming how people have responded to Guwahati Food Awards through its two seasons. We expect the same enthusiasm from them this year by participating through their votes to make sure the deserving one wins.”
