Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama will embark on a visit to Northeast India on April 1. He will deliver series of lectures in Guwahati and will then visit Tawang.

Dalai Lama will deliver a public talk on April 1 as part of the Concluding Program of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of The Assam Tribune. The spiritual leader is expected to deliver the second public talk at IIT Guwahati on April 2.

He will also inaugurate an Assamese translation of his book, ‘My Land and My People’. Dalai Lama will give his public talks on a human approach to world peace.

The spiritual leader will be in Tawang from April 5 to 7 and will give teachings on Kamalashila’s The Middling States of Meditation (gomrim barpa) and Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva (laklen sodunma) at Yiga Choezin.

China has objected to his visit saying that the visit would affect the relations between the two countries. India has maintained that his visit is purely spiritual.

This will be fifth visit of 14th Dalai Lama to Arunachal Pradesh. He had earlier visited Arunachal in 1983, 1993, 2003 and 2009.
