Sonowal launches mobile app for information on Majuli

In a move to promote and share information on the largest river island Majuli, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal unveiled a mobile application on Saturday. The app will have information on Xatriya culture, Mising culture, carbon registry, inputs on hotels, transport, lodges, car mechanic, car rentals and all information regarding district administration at Majuli. The unveiling was done in presence of Xatradhikar of Uttar Kamalabari Xatra Janardan Deb Goswami at a function held at Majuli on Saturday.

Sonowal also participated in a function christened Making of Developed India (Modi) fest organised at Garmurh in Majuli. The programme was organised to showcase the achievements of the NDA government at the centre in the last three years led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that in the last three years the NDA government, under the leadership of PM Modi, launched several welfare measures to bring all sections of the people especially the poorer section of the society in the schemes of things. Referring to NDA’s pet programme ‘Jan Dhan Scheme’ where in all the people belonging to economically insolvent classes were brought to the banking fold by creating bank accounts in their names, Sonowal said that the system has led to direct transfer of government subsidies without the presence of any middle man.
