Recognizing the dire need of technical exposure and true inspiration for the present day school students, the student fraternity of IIT Guwahati organize Technothlon – the international school championship as a part of their annual techno-management festival Techniche.

“Technothlon has now become an event which serves as an able platform to expose the innovation and creativity of a student in all its rawness. This year also Technothlon offers the mega prize of a guided tour to NASA’s AMES Research Centre in California, USA to the champions. The four winners of 2016 edition were sent on a fully funded trip to NASA , California Campus this January,” a statement by the organizers of Techniche said.

The competition would be held in two phases – prelims and mains. The prelims phase would be conducted over 400 centers all over India and is scheduled for July 16 wherein the students will be divided into junior squad (class 9 – class 10) and the hauts squad (class 11 – class 12).

“Being based on logic, analytical ability and practical observations, the prelims will be different from that of any other competitive examination. It will be attempted jointly by a team of two students where sheer spontaneity and out-of-the-box thinking capability of the candidates will be tested. The top 50 teams from each squad will be invited for the final round – mains, to be held at IIT Guwahati campus during Techniche from August 31 – September 3,” the statement added.

To provide a thorough analysis on the strengths and weakness of the student with respect to the topics, Technothlon introduced a new initiative “Tech Analysis Report” which will help the students to know about themselves and enabling them to do better in future examination.
