Guwahati will witness a one-of-its-kind event on September 9 when Virat Kohli’s fitness initiative, Chisel, will host a day-long activity to promote health and fitness among the citizens.
GNRC #NeverStop Guwahati is an initiative undertaken by the Dighalipukhuri centre of Chisel, the fitness chain promoted by Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli. The day-long event will have various health and fitness modules like marathon, cycle rally, yoga and Zumba besides fitness challenges featuring arm wrestling, cross-fitness etc.
“We at Chisel believe that apart from working out at the gym, outdoor activities are a must for staying fit. To lead an active life, one should be healthy and fit. #NeverStop Guwahati highlights that enthusiasm to stay fit and carry out our day to day activities,” said Bhaskarjyoti Das, franchise owner, Chisel Dighalipukhuri while addressing a media conference at the Guwahati Press Club on Monday.
#NeverStop Guwahati will start with a 10-km marathon starting from Chisel at 6am while a cycle rally will be flagged off from the same venue at the same time. The 25-km cycle rally will move towards Chandmari and will cover one half of the city.
At Chisel gym and fitness centre located near Dighalipukhuri, yoga and Zumba sessions will start at 8:30 am while the fitness challenge contests will begin from 10am. These events are open to all.
“While people are falling prey to lifestyle diseases, self-care in terms of keeping oneself fit is seen as something too simple, yet not practiced. In order to create that space for a healthy living, Chisel Dighalipukhuri presents #NeverStop Guwahati, a one-of-its-kind festival in the city which will guide you to a better living in-spite of your busy schedules,” added Bhaskarjyoti Das.
The day-long event will end with prize distribution and cultural programme in the evening.
Guwahati-based premiere healthcare institute GNRC Hospitals is the title sponsor at the event while city-based PR and reputation management company Life’s Purple is a partner. Sports event management company Rough It Out is the organizing partner for the marathon while outdoor adventure promoter Everything Outdoor is organizing the cycle rally.

Chisel is a state-of-the-art gym and fitness brand promoted by Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli. The Guwahati gym, opened at a floor-space of 3,200 square feet near Dighalipukhuri, has recently celebrated its one year of operations.
