Who’s who of the Assamese film industry are already geared up to be a part of the first Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF) as the city play hosts to some of the best films from October 28-November 2, 2017.

“Registering as a delegate will enable you to watch around 80 films to be screened at the festival. This includes some great films from our country of focus – Turkey. Also, the first Guwahati International Film Festival will showcase some of the best films from Assam, Northeast and India in general. Anyone and everyone can register themselves as a delegate,” said festival director Monita Borgohain. She added that no passes or tickets will be issued to witness the films.

The 1st Guwahati International Film Festival, organized by the Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio with support from the Assam government, is set to showcase more than 80 films from across the world.

The delegate registration for the 1st Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF) is now open for all. As the stage is set for the grand film fest, registrations of delegates has already picked pace.

The GIFF which is being organized by Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio with the support of Assam government in association with Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute will start from October 28 and will continue till November 2.

The festival will take place in two different places in the city – at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra and Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio.

The delegate registration can be done through the official website giff.assam.gov.in which incurs a minimum delegate fee of Rs 150 for students and Rs 300 for other categories.

The festival will have various sections like Indian Panorama, World Cinema, Retrospective, Cinema of northeast, Tribute and a section on films from Assam.
