NorthEast United FC won a friendly against Manipur-based NEROCA FC by 2-0 as the Guwahati side gets ready for the next season of the Indian Super League.

The first half of the match at the Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal saw the ISL side soaking a lot of fight from the Manipur club. At half time, no sides were able to put the ball at the back of the net with each getting good chances.

The Highlanders took the lead in the second half as Danilo’s shot went past the NEROCA goalie taking a deflection off Len at the 57th minute. Youngster Sushil Metei’s goal at the 89th minute sealed the affair for the Highlanders.

Earlier, Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh took part in the pre-match ceremony.
