The tickets of the much anticipated T20 international between India and Australia at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will be open for sale on Sunday.

Assam Cricket Association (ACA) vice-president Devajit Saikia said, there are a few thousand tickets left and which will be opened for fans on Sunday from 1 pm through Bookmyshow.com.

Though the stadium has a sitting capacity of 40,000 according to the ACA website, only 37,500 seats can be used to watch the match. And out of these, only 25,000 tickets were released for the common public.

Saikia said that a huge number of tickets and complimentary passes have to be given to various associates of BCCI and the sponsors. BCCI has as many as 30 sponsors.

Apart from that, a section of passes are given to the former state Ranji players and the Test players.

Saikia said that the ACA has left no stone unturned to make the event a grand success. And for the match the local body has borrowed Rs 6 crore from Apex bank.

“We desperately wanted to bring back an international match in Guwahati after a gap of seven years. We have tried our best. If we can conduct successfully, we can even expect IPL matches in Guwahati very soon,” said Saikia.

Guwahati last hosted India-New Zealand ODI in 2010 at Nehru Stadium which was won by India.

Saikia also requested all Assam Ranji cricketers and Assam under-16, under-19 and under-23 players who represented the state last year to collect their complimentary cards from ACA office from Sunday.
