The Mahesh Chandra Deva Goswami Memorial annual lecture-cum-workshop programme on CBCS was organized at Tangla College on Thursday.

The programme, organized by the Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) Darrang-Udalguri zone in association with Tangla College Teachers’ Unit (TCTU), witnessed the participation of teachers and stakeholders of ACTA from various colleges under four districts of BTAD besides teachers from colleges under Darrang district.

Addressing the gathering of students and teachers on the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), organizing secretary ACTA, Himanghshu Maral said the Bodoland University was the first to initiate the CBCS method at the undergraduate level in the state.

Stressing the importance of CBCS, he said the skill enhancement courses like costume designing were worth praising as they could generate self-employment opportunities in the region, but the necessary training should be imparted to teachers along with providing requisite infrastructure.
