A special court of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Guwahati on Wednesday sent Rajesh Dhawan, principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara, Guwahati to two-day police remand.

Dhawan was arrested by a CBI team on Tuesday evening while he was taking bribe from a contractor at his official residence.

A top CBI official said that, a CBI team arrested the principal red-handed while he was taking a bribe of Rs 30,000 in cash from a contractor for awarding a painting and electrical work.

On Wednesday, Dhawan was produced before the special court of CBI and the court had sent him to two-day police custody.
