Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen tweeted about the rhino census at Kaziranga national park and appreciated the fact that the number of rhinos at the Unesco World Heritage Site has increased.
Expressing his delight in Hindi, Pietersen wrote: “Yeh bohut achi Khabar hai, isse Padne ke liye mein bohut Khush hoon.”
“India mein appse bohut pyar karta hoon aur aapke jaanwaro se bhi bohut pyar karta hoon. @sorai2018 aapke sabhi pyaare jaanwaro se pratibrad hai. Hum rhinos se suruwatt kar rahe hai. Mein bohut khush hoon,” the tweet added.
In no time, people started responding to his post and showered him with compliments for his goodwill. Posted on April 2, the tweet garnered much attention on social media and has collected over 3,200 re-tweets and 13,000 likes.

Many people complimented the cricketer for voicing his thoughts and also appreciated him for using no English term in his post.
Earlier, the former England batsman highlighted the “poaching issue” at the Kaziranga national park. “I’m led to believe there’s poaching issues in Kaziranga National Park of rhinos…! You know that YOU can help! I’ll help too!” the star cricketer had tweeted.
In a recently conducted census, it was found that the number of one-horned rhinoceros at the Kaziranga national park has risen marginally by 12 to 2,413. This is a much lower increase than the 111 rise the 2015 census recorded.
The census was carried out on March 27-28. Authorities said they came to a lower count this time because they could not burn the tall grass in the region to spot the animals – only 20% of the vegetation could be burnt as compared to the 60% to 70% every year. Enumerators who were part of the census suggested they may carry out another count next year after reviewing the field conditions that are essential to ascertain the rhino population.
