BSNL Assam circle has set new records by increasing their customer base to 20 lakh. Launching several lucrative offers for the customers, senior officials of the network providers said that they have increased the market-share up to 12 per cent in the last several months.

Sandeep Govil, chief general manager of Assam telecom circle said that BSNL has been able to grow their market share in Assam circle in the last several months.

Govil said that at present BSNL has around 12 per cent of the market share in Assam circle which they are aiming to increase it further.

“We increased our market share from 7.8 per cent to 12 per cent. We are having at least one lakh new connections every month. The total customer base will be around 20 lakh, which is happening for the first time in Assam circle,” Govil told reporters in Guwahati on Tuesday.

He also said that Assam circle has won two awards for maximum SIM sale and for revenue generation which has been selected among all the circles in the country. To better the connectivity, BSNL will also increase the towers. “At present we have around 3,000 towers. Around 500 will be added in the next few months,” Govil added.

Launching a series of new schemes to attract new customers, Govil stated that the customers can now avail new broadband connections with unlimited data download/upload per month and 24 hours unlimited free calling facility to any network in India starting from Rs 99 per month.

These promotional plans are launched for a period of 90 days. Further he stated that these plans would suite requirements of all customers in fulfilling their ever increasing data demands.

BSNL’s Internet Telephony (VOIP) Service with brand name ‘WINGS’ was also launched for the customers of Assam circle to make and receive calls anywhere in India and abroad on Tuesday.

To make or receive calls using WINGS, a customer needs to install the ‘Wings App’ on the mobile or tablet.
