Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on July 27 extended a financial help of Rs 1 lakh under Journalists’ Medical Welfare Scheme for the medical treatment of Beauty Chaliha, wife of senior journalist Tarun Chandra Chaliha.
This financial assistance was handed over to the beneficiary at her residence by Rajib Prakash Baruah, director, Information & Public Relations, Assam. Additional director of the department Pradeep Brahma was also present during the handing over of the check.
