Lutuma FC of Guwahati defeated ACE’s FC by 6-1 goals to lift the Decathlon Kipsta Cup five-a-side football tournament held at Decathlon play area in Azara, Guwahati on July 7-8.

The two-day event, organized in association with Sportscraft Management and powered by Airtel TV, saw participation of 28 teams from across Assam fighting for the championship of football’s shorter format.

Champions Lutuma FC took home the Decathlon Kipsta Cup and a cash prize of Rs 15,000 while runner up ACE’s took home a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Migum Kuli of Jalukbari FC was selected as the star player while Sibra Narzary of HQ Maligaon emerged as the top scorer of the tournament. Pragyan Medhi of Lutuma FC scored 4 goals in the final.

Noted coach and former footballer Bijay Sonowal gave away the prizes in the closing ceremony of the tournament which was supported by Guwahati City FC (GCFC).

Champions Lutuma FC dedicated their win to their former player Sumit Rabha who passed away after battling kidney failure recently.

Budding free-style footballer Bijoy Tamang also performed and showcased some breathtaking freestyle skills during the event. GNRC Hospital, The News Mill and Egua packaged drinking water also supported the two-day event.
