ACA Stadium, Barsapara in Guwahati

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati is getting ready to host an India Vs West Indies ODI on October 21. The Kamrup Metro district administration is gearing up for the international cricket match with deputy commissioner Virendra Mittal setting a deadline for all the departments to complete the preparations.

Mittal has fixed September 30 as the deadline for all works related to the match.

Chairing a meeting in Guwahati on Tuesday, Mittal reviewed progress of works around Assam Cricket Association (ACA) stadium including roads, traffic management, drainage system and shifting of electric poles, among others.

He asked Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) to carry out pole shifting works immediately. District development commissioner B Choudhury was entrusted to communicate with National Highway Authority for certain works in the meeting. Mittal also asked for cooperation of each department for timely completion of the works.

The state government has already sanctioned Rs 2.85 crore for the development works in and around the ACA stadium.
