Guwahati-based startup, Wify Cab, is set to compete with cab aggregators like Uber and Ola as it is looking to launch its service in as many as 98 smart cities in India.

Aspiring Ideas and Future Tech Solutions unveiled the brand Wify Cab, in presence of Miss India 2016 Priyadarshini Chatterjee at a Guwahati hotel on Friday.

The brand, which has already attached more than 2,000 cabs under its fold, will start its services in Guwahati before Durga Puja.

“We are proud to unveil the brand Wify Cab before you today. We have been working closely with local cab drivers and operators to make this state-of-the-art application which will enable hassle-free rides across the city,” said Kristi Sikha, co-founder at Wify Cab.

Speaking on the occasion, Miss India 2016 Priyadarshini Chatterjee said that she is happy to see a Guwahati startup working closely to solve the daily problems of commuters across the country. “With the launch of Wify Cab, I hope that the destinations within the city will no longer seem far apart. Guwahati needed a modern urban transport system and Wify Cab aims to fill this void. I, being from Guwahati, am happy to be a part of this journey,” said Miss India 2016 Priyadarshini Chatterjee.

The cab service – which will commence in Guwahati before Durga Puja – will offer rides within the city at Rs 5/km. Aiming to launch the service with more than 4,000 cars attached, Wify Cab has come up with innovative offers for drivers as well as customers. Besides the passenger cab service, Wify Cab will also provide on-demand ambulance service through their mobile app.

With every download of the mobile app, a customer gets Rs 11,000 cash-credit in their Wify Cab wallet. Out of this, Rs 1000 can be used during surge pricing while Rs 10,000 will be credited to the customer’s bank account if s/he books 300 trips per year for 5 years.

For the cab owners and drivers, Wify Cab introduces unlimited ride recharge coupons which will enable them for commission-free unlimited rides. “This is a very unique concept. Upon recharge of Rs 1599, a cab driver can operate his cab for unlimited rides for which we will not charge any commission. At present, the cab drivers are at heavy loss because the aggregator companies charge heavy commission. At Wify Cab, we give every single earning to the drivers when they recharge with Rs 1599 which comes with a validity of 30 days for unlimited trips,” added Kristi Sikha, co-founder at Wify Cab.

Also, the company is providing pension scheme and accidental insurance for the drivers besides Rs 5,000 bonus for 100 best performing drivers every month. As part of the launch offer, first month rental is free for the new drivers, besides Rs 3,000 will be added to the wallet for the drivers which can be redeemed during subsequent recharges. Also, Wify Cab is providing 1 year free recharge for those drivers who could refer 50 cabs. The company will hold a lucky draw after 2 months of operations where the drivers can win prizes worth Rs 50,000.

The Guwahati startup, which initially raised a seed fund value of Rs 1.2 crore, plans to expand operations across 98 smart cities in India. The startup has already initiated market survey in a number of cities.
