The Bharatiya Janata Party will fight solo in the coming assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Arunachal Pradesh. State BJP president Tapir Gao on Thursday said that the BJP will fight the elections on its own under the leadership of chief minister Pema Khandu and deputy chief minister Chowna Mein.
Addressing a meeting in Namsai on Thursday, Gao said that there will be no change in the party leadership in the state. He also asserted that BJP will win the 2019 Assembly election with thumping majority in the 60-member state legislative assembly and will form the next government in the state.
On Thursday, 50 new members from Lekang constituency joined the BJP at the Namsai district BJP and mandal executive meeting held at Poi Pee Mau Ground, Namsai on Thursday.
Addressing the party workers on the occasion, deputy chief minister Chowna Mein said that many people from his Lekang constituency and the district are willing to join the ruling party. “Joining of the new members showed the growing trust of the masses in the functioning of the BJP government in both the centre and the state,” he said adding that it is due to the people-friendly policies, transformational changes towards good governance, transparency and rapid development brought in by the BJP-ruled government in the state.
He further expressed confidence in winning all the three seats of Namsai district with huge margin in the coming assembly election.
