The Arunachal Pradesh BJP on Friday was caught sharing misleading images on Twitter showing development in the state. Arunachal BJP’s social media team shared an old photograph of the Itanagar-Hollongi road claiming that as the Itanagar-Ziro road.

The ‘before and after’ collage shared by the state BJP on Twitter showed a photo of a depleted Itanagar-Ziro road and passed off the Itanagar-Hollongi road as the ‘after’ photo.

Calling the bluff, many tweeples bashed the state BJP for trying to mislead the people of the state.

Netizens questioned the misleading tweet. “Hold on… Itanagar-Ziro? Really?? Which route are you referring to? Surely not the Doimukh-Potin-Yachuli-Joram-Ziro one right?? If it is so, I can’t believe what you guys are trying to prove… The existing road is a nightmare… don’t lie blatantly. @PemaKhanduBJP please take note,” one citizen retorted.

Ironically, the BJP described the ‘well-cemented’ road as ‘the hallmark of good governance.’ The current condition of the Itanagar-Ziro road is pathetic. The Arunachal Times of Saturday reported that the section of the road between Papu-Yupia-Potin has not been repaired in the last two years and the condition is pathetic and even dangerous for travellers.

The reactions on the social media forced the state BJP to take down the misleading tweet, but snapshots of the same were doing rounds on the social media leading to further embarrassments.
