Newly appointed Nagaland governor R N Ravi will be taking oath as the governor of Nagaland on August 1 at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Kohima at 11:00 am.
According to a release issued by the PRO of Raj Bhavan said the chief justice (acting) of the Gauhati high court Arup Kumar Goswami will administer the oath to R N Ravi.
Ravi, who will be arriving at Kohima on July 31, will be accorded with general salute by the Nagaland police at the 3rd Assam Rifles Helipad in Kohima, the PRO said.
Ravi, a 1976-batch Indian Police Service officer from Kerala, was appointed as in interlocutor for Naga peace talks in August 2014.
Ravi has an expertise in Northeast affairs as he was looking after the region during his tenure in the Intelligence Bureau from where he retired as special director in 2012.
Ravi was serving as the chairman of joint intelligence committee (JIC) of India.
