Union Minister of State for Steel Faggan Singh Kulaste has launched the BJP Sangathan Parv Membership Drive 2019 for Nagaland at Kohima on July 6 at a function organised by the state unit of BJP.

Kulaste formally inaugurated BJP Sangathan Parv by lighting a candle and paying tributes to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on the occasion of his 118th birth anniversary.

Kulaste said that the Northeast region was neglected by several successive governments in the Centre, but it was then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, who established the department of North Eastern Region (DoNER) in the Centre to look into developments of the neglected backward region.

He also gave a special boost to the North Eastern Council (NEC) for the development of the region. He said that he had visited Nagaland on various occasions and noticed the tremendous developments in the state after the NDA government came to power for the first time in 2014.

He reiterated the NDA slogan “Sabke Saath, Saabka Vikash and Sabke Biswas” initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the main drawback of the Northeast was connectivity by road, by a train track, telecommunications and by air. He claimed that there was a change in the communication systems, especially in the road sectors after the NDA Government came to power under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

Nagaland BJP president supported the 5 trillion dollar economy taken up by the NDA government under the leadership of Modi and said that the central government, who can give the development to the state, as well as the solution of the political problem of the state. He appealed to the people to join the BJP party to strengthen the NDA government to get benefits of fast development for the Naga society.

Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister and BJP legislator Y Patton said that the BJP is “world’s largest political party,” which was founded by then Jana Sangh by Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, which was renamed as BJP.
