Four forest personnel killed, two injured in a road mishap near Sivasagar

At least four forest personnel were killed and two others injured in a road mishap in Assam’s Sivasagar district on August 30 morning.

The incident took place at Suntolisiga area near Gaurisagar in Sivasagar district.

According to reports, a speedy passenger bus allegedly hit a forest vehicle while the forest personnel, travelling in the vehicle, were returning from duty.

Four forest personnel, including a driver, died on spot and two others injured in the incident. The deceased persons were identified as Prashanta Dutta, Bipul Hazarika, Nizamuddin and Priyam Mech.

The injured forest personnel named Bubul Baruah and Nazimuddin were rushed to nearby hospital.

State Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya offered his condolences to the families of the deceased and issued instructions for all necessary treatment of the injured.
