ASEB to face OIL in Bordoloi Trophy final

Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) SC on Sunday defeated FC Green Valley 3-2 in an exciting semi final of the 66th Lokapriyo Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy at the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati.

ASEB will play Oil India Limited (OIL) on October 2 in the final.

In an exciting semi final, ASEB defender Maneswar Mushahary opened the score in the 6th minute of the match.

In the 64th minute, ASEB extended the lead with a beautiful goal. Akrang Narzary was the architect, dodging past two Green Valley defenders, delivering a great ball to Jwmbla Brahma who made no mistake in putting the ball inside the net with a brilliant touch.

Trailing 0-2, Victor Shadap scored a goal for Green Valley in the 76th minute to open their account. In the 83rd minute, Green Valley came from behind to level the scores with a goal by Michael Lucky.

But Jwmbla Brahma of ASEB had other plans as he completed his brace with the decider at the 89th minute of the match.

ASEB were clearly the best team with wave of attacks, building from the back while Green Valley mostly sat back and relied on counter-attacks.
