A rape accused man was thrashed, garlanded with shoes and paraded for allegedly raping his own niece in Assam’s Nagaon district on Saturday.

The incident took place at Kathiatoli area in Nagaon district where a group of women thrashed the accused and garlanded with shoes and paraded him.

According to reports, the accused person had allegedly raped his 14-year-old own niece, while she went to his house to collect a gamosa.

When the victim minor girl narrated the incident to her family members, some locals had thrashed the man.

A local woman said that, the victim is his own niece. “When she went to his house to collect a gamosa, he was alone at home and told her that, he felt some problems because of high blood pressure and requested her to serve him some food. When she entered into another room, he allegedly raped her,” the local woman said.

Later, locals handed over the accused to Kathiatoli police station.
