Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (retd) BD Mishra on Sunday met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and requested for waiving off the Rs 280.62 crore dues which the state government has to pay to the Indian Air Force (IAF).
The defence minister assured the governor, who was on a five-day official tour to the National Capital, to personally look into the state’s request for an early finalisation, a Raj Bhavan communique said.
During their meeting in New Delhi, the governor also apprised Singh on the issues of national security and raising of new units of National Cadet Corps.
He shared his observations of the Army formation in Arunachal Pradesh, which he noted during his tour to remote border areas and in his regular interactions with the defence personnel in the state besides expectations of the people.
He invited the defence minister for attending the Maitri Diwas function as the chief guest in second week of November.
The governor also called on DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh and discussed various ongoing projects of the ministry in the state.
He reiterated the state’s request for the independent cadre for the Arunachal Pradesh of All India Services.
