Durand Cup winner Gokulam Kerala FC continued their good run as they won the 11th Bodousa Cup Football tournament defeating Minerva Punjab FC 6-5 in a tightly contested final held at Tinsukia on October 4.

The winner had to be decided in sudden death after score-line remained equal following the tie-breaker. The match ended 2-2 after the 90 minutes and in the tie-breaker both the teams converted 3 shots each into the goals. Thus, sudden death came into play and the Kerala side emerged victorious.

It was Brazilian forward Sérgio Barboza Jr who put the Punjab side ahead in the very 3rd minute of the match. But the lead did not last long as Number 10 Zola equalised the score in the 16th minute. The first half ended on the score of 1-1.

In the second half, both the teams attacked but failed to score till the 82nd minute before Beautyan scored to make it 2-1 for Gokulam. As the match was nearing for the finishing whistle, a Girik Khosla header again equalised the score leading to the tie-breaker.

In the tie-breaker all the goals were scored and finally, the Kerala side won via Sudden Death.
