Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday said that his government will soon convene an all-party meeting on the issue of Naga peace talks and asserted that the state’s integrity would not be comprised.

The CM’s statement comes days after the Central government clarified that all stakeholders including Northeast states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur would be duly consulted before any settlement is arrived at with Naga groups.

“Recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said all the stakeholders including Arunachal Pradesh will be consulted on the Naga issue. Exactly, on Naga framework on what things discussions are being held, we will take feedback and after that call an all-party meeting soon to discuss on it,” Khandu told reporters on the sideline of a public function in Itanagar.

“I want to assure the people of Arunachal Pradesh that integrity of the state will not be compromised,” he stated.

“Our three districts which is bordering Nagaland, I have heard that under Naga framework they are demanding to include it in Greater Nagalim. Definitely we will not consider that,” he asserted.

Asked about his Manipur counterpart N Biren Singh being very vocal on the Naga issue, the CM said, “The situation of Manipur might be different from Arunachal and Assam. Wherever necessary, will definitely raise our voice.”

Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Nabam Tuki urged CM Khandu to hold an all-party meeting on the Naga issue in greater interest of the state.

In a letter addressed to Khandu last week, the former chief minister said the state government must make its stand clear on the issue.

The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU), said that it will strongly oppose any attempts to change the territorial jurisdiction of the state or any kind of administrative intervention in the state while reaching the final solution.
