Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on December 17 said it has resumed short-distance Indian Railways services in Assam following improved law and order situation and the state coming back to normal life.

NFR’s chief public relations officer Subhanan Chanda in a release said the services of local passenger and Intercity trains which had to be suspended to ensure safety and security of passengers, are gradually resumed.

The following local passenger and Intercity trains were running on December 17.

Down trains include 15670 Dimapur – Guwahati Nagaland Express, 15768 Alipurduar Jn – Siliguri Intercity Express, 55802 Guwahati – New Bongaigaon passenger and 55804 Guwahati – Goalpara – New Bongaigaon passenger.

The Up trains include 12067 Guwahati –Jorhat Town Janshatabdi Express, 15816 Dekargaon – Kamakhya Express, 15769 Alipurduar Jn – Lumding Intercity Express, 15603 Guwahati – Ledo Intercity Express, 15605 Guwahati – Dibrugarh Intercity Express, 55985 Rangiya – Murkongselek passenger and 55803 New Bongaigaon – Goalpara – Guwahati passenger.
