The London Fashion Week on February 15 witnessed the showcasing of the Assam’s famous ‘Mekhela Chador’ along with a number of traditional Indian wear.

As part of the India Day celebrations at the London Fashion Week, designers from Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD), supported by London School of Trends, showcased some of their designs in front of the world audience. The India Day was organized by the Indian High Commission in London.

Models walked the ramp donning the Mekhela Chador, Baluchari, Kashmiri, Kasavu, Chikan Sarees, Chanderi and other traditional dresses from various parts of India. It was the first time an India Day was organised as part of the prominent event which was held from February 14-18.
