Congress resumes padyatra against CAA in Assam

The Congress on February 13 resumed it’s ‘padyatra’ (foot march) against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in Assam from Behali in the northern part of the state.

State Congress president Ripun Bora led the protest march, which resumed at Bedeti of Behali.
The Congress leaders addressed a gathering at Bedeti, where singer Mahendra Hazarika also performed patriotic songs.

A cultural troupe also accompanied the padyatra till Biswanath, where the leaders addressed their second meeting of the day.

Several local Congress leaders, including former ministers, joined the next and final stretch of the walk for the day.

The padyatra against the CAA was started by the Congress in Assam on December 22 from Sadiya at the eastern fringe of the state. The yatra will culminate at Nalbari in the western part.
