Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on February 10 said that the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government in the state has considered the early settlement of Naga political issues as their top priority.

Giving his concluding remarks to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, Rio conveyed his appreciation to all stakeholders for exhibition of utmost sincerity and a spirit of understanding in helping create a conducive atmosphere for conclusion of the talk on a positive note.

The chief minister expressed his appreciation to the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their commitment, determination and guidance leading to successful conclusion of the talk.

Rio was of the view that for a new beginning there has to be an agreement.

On the Citizenship Amendment Act, Rio said that there are apprehensions among the people of possible adverse impact but the special status of Article 371A and the Inner Line Permit regulations will protect the interest of the Nagas in the future.
