Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 announced that no gathering of more than five people will be allowed in Delhi in view of Coronavirus outbreak.
In his first digital press briefing on COVID-19, Kejriwal said in view of Coronavirus outbreak, people in the national capital should maintain a distance of one metre in places where it is unavoidable.
The Chief Minister announced that pension for elderly, widows, specially-abled is being doubled in view of Coronavirus outbreak.
Kejriwal further announced free ration to over 18 lakh families who are dependent on Delhi government’s ration scheme.
“Each person will now get 7.5 kg ration instead of 5 kg that they usually get,” the chief minister said.
He said for the homeless, the Delhi government is arranging lunch and dinner in all its night shelters.
“This will be open for all. Anybody can come and have the meals,” Kejriwal said.
The chief minister said GST charges on hotel bills for quarantine patients in Delhi will be waived off.
