Manipur government has asked troops and officials to seal the international border, specially at Moreh, and avoid all major events to stop spread of Coronavirus (Covid 19).

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on March 10 said that the international border with Myanmar has been closed as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Border trade activities at Moreh on Indian side and Tamu on Myanmar side were affected due to the ban on movement of people. Health Minister L Jayantakumar Singh has also advised all health officials to take active participation to prevent Novel Coronavirus.

He said isolation wards were opened at Moreh Hospital and Integrated Check Post, Moreh as the border area is prone to spread of the virus. Minister Jayentakumar said there is no confirmed report of Coronavirus case in the state. There is no confirmed report in Myanmar also according to the latest survey report of WHO.

Medical check points have been opened at more than five different places including Imphal International Airport to detect this Coronavirus cases, he added.
