Another COVID-19 case in Assam; tally moves to 37

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on April 28 informed that another COVID-19 case was reported from Goalpara district taking the total number of cases in the state to 37.

Earlier in the day, a case – that of a 16-year-old girl – was reported from Salmara in Bongaigaon district.

“A person from Goalpara district, secondary contact of a Markaz attendee, has tested #COVID positive. The number of #COVID19 patients in Assam now stands at 37. Active hospital cases 9,” the minister tweeted.

With this case, the total number of active case in the state rose to 9 while 27 others recovered from the disease. On April 10, one patient died of COVID-19 related complications in Silchar.
