Assam on April 13 reported yet another case of COVID-19 from Dhubri district, taking the total tally in the state to 30.
Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on April 13 informed of a new case in Dhubri which is also linked to the religious conglomeration at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi which was held last month.
This is the 29th case in Assam which is traced to the event in Delhi.

Earlier, one businessman in Guwahati was found COVID-19 positive which was not related to the event. Sarma had earlier said that the businessman had recovered from the disease and will be released from the hospital soon.
A patient from Hailakandi district of the state, who was admitted at Silchar Medical College and Hospital with COVID-19 complications, breathed his last on April 10. This is the first death case related to COVID-19 in the Northeast region. The person, reportedly, was present at the Nizamuddin Markaz.
