Two fresh COVID-19 cases were reported from Meghalaya on April 18, taking the total tally in the state to 11. Among them, 10 patients are currently tested positive while one died on April 15.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on April 18 informed that two fresh cases were reported in the state. The two new cases were related to the family of the first COVID-19 patient in the state.

“Two more positive cases detected taking the total to 10 active cases in the state. Both cases are from the house of the first patient one is family and other a helper in the house,” Sangma tweeted.

Meghalaya on April 13 reported the first COVID-19 case when a doctor working at Bethany Hospital in Shillong was tested positive. The doctor died of complication related to the disease on April 15.

With the new cases reported from Meghalaya, the total number of cases in Northeast went up to 52 while 38 among them are positive, 12 healed and 2 deaths.
