Mild 4.0 magnitude earthquake jolts Sikkim

A mild earthquake magnitude measuring 4 in the Richter scale jolted several parts of Sikkim and North Bengal on April 26.

The tremor was felt at around 10:59 am on April 26.

The origin of the earthquake was 10 km deep and was of 4.0 magnitude.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 42 kms, South East of Gangtok, around Rongli.

Though earthquake was felt across the state and in neighbourhood areas like Kalimpong and adjacent areas lightly, it was felt strongly in Rongli Sikkim.
