Eleven new COVID-19 cases were detected in Assam on May 21 taking the total number of cases to 199 in the state.
Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that eight persons were found #COVID19 positive in the evening while three others were found positive in the first half of the day.
On May 21, Kokrajhar reported 6 cases, 2 each in Sivasagar and Dhubri and one COVID-19 case was detected from Dibrugarh.
With these, the total number of cases in the state went up to 199 with 138 active cases as on May 21. As many as 54 patients recovered from the disease. On May 21, six patients – two in MMCH Guwahati and four in SMCH, Silchar – were released from the hospital after they tested negative in simultaneous tests.
Assam reported four deaths till now due to COVID-19 related complications and three patients had migrated to other states.
