UK records highest daily COVID-related death toll since March

The number of COVID-19 cases in Tripura went up to 42 on May 5 evening after 13 new cases came to light.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb informed that 13 persons from BSF’s 138 Battalion in Ambassa were found COVID-19 positive on May 5.

Deb added that all the active cases involved BSF troopers and no civilians were among the positive cases.

“13 persons from 138th-Bn #BSF Ambassa found #COVID19 POSITIVE today including 1 Mess worker. Total #COVID19 positive cases in Tripura stands at 42 (2 already discharged, so active cases: 40) There is no positive case among civilians. Don’t panic!,” the chief minister tweeted.

On May 4, 12 troopers were detected positive.

Ambassa has been designated as a Red Zone.
